For Solution and Services - Veolia we carried out a proof of concept (PoC) with Oracle Database Appliance to verify the feasibility and speed of a new Oracle Database EE environment in a RAC cluster; it showed the ODA was 40–55% faster than comparable commodity hardware. In the next phase we recommended a suitable model and helped migrate seven production databases. We are now building a DR site on the original hardware with Oracle VM, including test environments, connected to central monitoring in Oracle Grid Control.
